Cows spend half their life resting and the other half walking or standing on concrete floors in the barn.
To minimize lameness for cows it is important to create the proper concrete walking surface.
In new construction it is the perfect time to do the best job possible to create a surface that provides good traction while minimizing slipping.
Important factors in creating the proper walking surface include a good sub base preparation, strong concrete mix, correct placement and grooving to provide confident footing and prevent slipping.
